Your guide to AdGuard on PiFi
What is AdGuard Home?
AdGuard Home is a network-wide software for blocking ads & tracking. It covers ALL your home devices, and you don’t need any client-side apps. With the rise of Internet-Of-Things and connected devices, it becomes more and more important to be able to control your whole network.
It comes pre-installed on PiFi and is accessible at any time in the app by tapping Settings > AdGuard Home
VPN DNS Resolver
AdGuard is the primary DNS resolver on PiFi meaning that the DNS configured in AdGuard home is what gets used by the network.
When connecting to a VPN, to ensure that streaming services operate as they should and you don’t encounter errors - the VPN client allows the VPN provider to push their own DNS server. However, should you wish to override this with whatever you have set in AdGuard Home you can do so by visiting App > Settings > More Settings > VPN Client > Overrule DNS and toggling it to on.
