VPN Config Files or Credentials

Your VPN provider will provide config files and credentials for OpenVPN. Some VPN providers may also provide WireGuard config files which offer improved VPN speeds. Here’s a quick way to find yours:

To find OpenVPN Config Files

To download config files (OpenVPN .ovpn files) search “Your Provider Name + Manual OpenVPN Files” in google i.e NordVPN + Manual OpenVPN Files

To find OpenVPN Credentials

To find your OpenVPN credentials (a server username and password which is often different from your VPN account login) search “Your Provider Name + Manual OpenVPN Credentials” in google i.e NordVPN + Manual OpenVPN Credentials

💡
One-time Task: PiFi will save your credentials so in future any time you upload a config file from this VPN provider all you will have to do is tap on your saved VPN provider name within the app.

To find WireGuard Config Files

Not all VPN providers provide Wireguard .conf files that are needed by PiFi - including NordVPN - however, many such as PureVPN, SurfShark, Mullvad etc do so it is worth checking if your provider offers manual Wireguard files.

To find your Wireguard config files search google for “Your Provider Name + Manual Wireguard Config”, for example NordVPN + Manual Wireguard Config

WireGuard Credentials

WireGuard config files contain everything needed to connect to the server and do not require additional credentials
